ABOUT

FIRST LEGO League Explore for Early Elementary School Students

More than robots.
In Michigan, FIRST LEGO League Explore is an early elementary school program with teams comprised solely of team members in K-3 who learn, play, hone skills, and acquire new ones.

  • Build and test models using LEGO Education WeDo to show their ideas.
  • Create Show Me posters to share what they learned.
  • Increase interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through a real-world challenge.
  • Work with coaches to practice research, critical thinking, and imagination.
  • Learn about the fascinating world of science and technology.

FIRST is more than robots. Its vision is to develop the next generation of innovators and leaders.

Let’s play!

Teams come together in a variety of ways. They can be school-based or can form within non-profit organizations, scout troops, home school groups, neighborhoods. FIRST LEGO League is a fit in any setting: large, small, public, private, rural, urban, or suburban.

Teams explore an important real-world issue through the yearly challenge using the LEGO® Inspire Set. Guided by adult coaches, students build models using LEGO® Education WeDo and create Show Me posters to present what they learned.

Events are a celebration of the season and a chance for teams to share what they learned and created.
