Grant opportunities are available to support FIRST<\/i> in Michigan FIRST<\/i> LEGO League Challenge teams. Qualifying rookie teams may receive substantial support with their start-up costs, and additional funding opportunities may be available for both rookie and returning teams.<\/p>\n

Teams should carefully review the eligibility requirements and application instructions for each grant opportunity.<\/p>\n

The FIRST in Michigan Rookie Team Grant can provide qualifying teams with season registration, a Challenge Table Set, and a new reusable LEGO Education SPIKE Prime set.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Michigan Department of Education 99h Robotics Competition Grant provides funding opportunities for eligible Michigan school-affiliated robotics teams.<\/p>\n

Educators with eligible school-affiliated FIRST<\/i> teams may be able to use DonorsChoose<\/a> to request funding for materials that support their team.<\/p>\n

Eligible projects may include items such as LEGO Education sets, laptops, tablets, and other materials used by the team. DonorsChoose eligibility and available matching opportunities can change, so educators should review the current requirements on the DonorsChoose website when creating a project.<\/p>\n

Teams are encouraged to connect with businesses and community organizations in their area for additional funding opportunities. Team parents, coaches, and mentors may also want to check with their employers, as many companies offer grants, matching funds, or volunteer support for employees involved in youth STEM programs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
