They can be school-based or can form within non-profit organizations, scout troops, home school groups, neighborhoods. <em>FIRST<\/em> LEGO League is a fit in any setting: large, small, public, private, rural, urban, or suburban.<\/p>\n<p>Team members, guided by coaches and mentors, create and program a LEGO Mindstorms robot to compete in a <em>FIRST <\/em>designed game. The game is played on a 4&#8217;x8&#8242; wooden table field. Each year has a new theme.<\/p>\n<p>Teams also complete a project based on the yearly theme. Teams research a problem, create an innovative solution, and share their solution with others. During both the robot and project completion, students also practice teamwork and the <em>FIRST<\/em> Core Values.<\/p>\n<p>Events are a celebration of the season and a chance for teams to engage in the fun and excitement of competition.
