Event hosts cannot add\/remove teams from events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">ROUND 2 EVENT REGISTRATION OPENS FRIDAY, OCT. 11 at 7AM<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<div>Round 2 Event Registration will open at 7:00AM on Friday, October 11.\u00a0<b>Participation in a 2nd qualifier is<\/b>\u00a0<b>OPTIONAL<\/b>. League Tournaments will not be listed on the Round 2 form.<\/li>\n<li><b>Ranked list of five Round 1 event preferences that work for your team.\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"color: #202124;\">The more options your team provides, the more likely the team can be placed in a 2nd round event.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>Providing a limited number of ranked preferences could limit the ability to place the team in a Round 2 event.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #202124;\">Round 2 Event Registration Particulars:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Participation in a 2nd\/3rd qualifier is OPTIONAL.<\/li>\n<li>Please submit ONE (1) form per team. . Form responses are date and time-stamped upon submission.<\/li>\n<li>A team&#8217;s Round 1 event could chronologically occur after their Round 2 event.<\/li>\n<li>Round 2 event registration forms are processed in a first come-first served order with event placement limited by event capacity.<\/li>\n<li>For multiple teams out of the same school\/org.: There is no guarantee that multiple teams out of the same school\/org. will be able to be placed in the same Round 2 or Round 3 event due to capacity constraints at events.<\/li>\n<li>A quick submission is recommended. Do not forget to click the &#8220;Submit&#8221; button at the end of the form.<\/li>\n<li>Teams that want to increase the likelihood of being placed in a Round 2 event are encouraged to provide at least 5 ranked event preferences.<\/li>\n<li><b>If the team provides a limited number of ranked event preferences, and those preferences are at capacity when the team&#8217;s form is processed (date\/timestamp order), the team WILL NOT BE PLACED in a Round 2 event.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>When a listed Round 2 event reaches capacity, it will be shifted to the WAITLIST. This does not happen automatically so there could be a lag. Teams can select to be waitlisted for an event that is at capacity via the Round 2 form. Selecting a waitlisted event will not result in placement in that event but serves only as an indication to FiM FTC that the team would like to be considered for placement if a spot opens up at that event.<\/li>\n<li>Historically, event placement from the waitlist does not happen often.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><b>Once a team&#8217;s placement in an event is confirmed, the team is expected to follow through with their participation at that event (1st, 2nd, or 3rd round) regardless if they earn an advancement spot from an earlier event. It will reflect negatively on a team to withdraw from an event where they&#8217;ve been confirmed. It creates a hardship for the event host in terms of planning and covering expenses as the team&#8217;s $100 event fee is remitted directly to the event host and comprises the budget for the event.<\/b><\/div>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>\u00a0STATES&#8217; ADVANCEMENT REMINDERS<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Each qualifying event (qualifier or league tournament) advances a set number of teams to one of the two FiM FTC State Championship events,\n<ul>\n<li>States-SE: Dec. 7 &amp; 8 (Sat. &amp; Sun.) Macomb Community College, Warren<\/li>\n<li>States-NW: Dec. 13 &amp; 14 (Fri. &amp; Sat.), Trinity Health Arena, Muskegon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Teams are eligible for advancement at any one of the first three events they participate in at the qualifier\/league tournament level.<\/li>\n<li>A team can earn advancement to only one State Championship event.<\/li>\n<li>Once a team earns a state\u2019s advancement spot, they are no longer eligible to earn advancement spots at subsequent qualifying events where the team participates. The team can still earn awards at the subsequent events.<\/li>\n<li>Note that teams can only earn the Inspire Award once at a given competition level (for example, qualifier\/league tournament level). All States&#8217; advancing teams are eligible for the Inspire Award at their respective States&#8217; event as States&#8217; is the next level of competition.<\/li>\n<li>If a team has a strong preference for attending a particular State Championship event, the team should choose to participate in qualifying events that advance to that preferred State Championship event. Teams must participate in one official FiM FTC qualifier\/league tournament\/spring event in the 2024-25 season to meet the competition requirement of the grant.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif;\"><b>Grant Payout:<\/b>\u00a0Payout of the grant is done by the MDE and usually occurs in March. Awarded grant funds are paid to the team\u2019s fiscal partner i.e. district\/school on behalf of the awarded teams in that district\/school. Teams should work with their district\/school to access\u00a0the funding. Funding can solely be used by the team to which they were awarded.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>FTC Funding:\u00a0<\/b>These are the maximum award amounts. The MDE has applied a blanket percentage reduction to the award payout amounts for the past few years in order to stay within the grant\u2019s funding allocation. This is decided upon by the MDE and not FIRST in Michigan.
