Closes Jan. 6.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><b>Good news!\u00a0 The MI Dept. of Education (MDE) state grant is now open in\u00a0NexSys!!<\/b>\u00a0The name of the grant is &#8220;99h: Robotics Competition Grant&#8221;.\u00a0The MDE has replaced the MEGS+ grant system with NexSys.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>The grant will be open until January 6 at 4:30 pm.<\/b>\u00a0This closing time is earlier than in prior years when the grant closed at 11:59 pm.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\">Here are a few things to note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The grant must be initiated and submitted by the person in your school\/district with Level 5 clearance. This person is usually in the superintendent&#8217;s office. The Level 5 can give the coach Level 3 or 4 clearance to fill it out once it is initiated. Then, the Level 5 can review the information and submit the application.<\/li>\n<li>Any MDE recognized public or non-public school\/district may apply for the grant.<\/li>\n<li><b>All of a school&#8217;s\/district&#8217;s FIRST teams should be included on a single application.\u00a0<\/b>The application allows you to add &#8220;pages&#8221; for each team across programs. It should include all of the FRC, FTC, FLL-Challenge\/Explore\/Discover teams in your school\/district.<\/li>\n<li>If you are a\u00a0<b>non-public school<\/b>\u00a0<b>and don&#8217;t have a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/firstinmichigan-dot-yamm-track.appspot.com\/Redirect?ukey=1e2YYpV9DyB8SMS24zO-2ZDpzklU4OfAV5TCpn8THmko-767881163&amp;key=YAMMID-1639139380819&amp;link=https:\/\/sigma.michigan.gov\/webapp\/PRDVSS2X1\/AltSelfService\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/firstinmichigan-dot-yamm-track.appspot.com\/Redirect?ukey%3D1e2YYpV9DyB8SMS24zO-2ZDpzklU4OfAV5TCpn8THmko-767881163%26key%3DYAMMID-1639139380819%26link%3Dhttps:\/\/sigma.michigan.gov\/webapp\/PRDVSS2X1\/AltSelfService&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1639495530266000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3SSxHhecF6dseQTvra4oE9\">SIGMA vendor number<\/a>\u00a0with the state yet<\/b>, you must establish one. Do this right away.<\/li>\n<li>The award amounts in the grant are qualified with\u00a0the words &#8220;up to&#8221;. This serves to alert you that this is the maximum amount the team may be awarded but the numbers may be adjusted downward based on the number of applicants.<\/li>\n<li><b>Make sure you communicate right away with your Level 5 because January 6 will come more quickly than you think.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Participating in a sanctioned FIRST in Michigan FTC competition in the 2021-2022 season is a requirement of the\u00a0grant. Participating in a fall, winter-remote, or spring FiM FTC event satisfies this requirement.<\/li>\n<li>Please reach out to me if you have any issues.
