CLOSES:\u00a0NOON<\/span>\u00a0ON FEBRUARY 9, 2026<\/strong><\/div>\n

SEND THIS EMAIL TO YOUR LEVEL 5 RIGHT AWAY<\/strong>\u00a0(the only person in the district who can initiate and submit grants in NexSys) to help them fill out the grant properly. You usually find them\u00a0in the Superintendent\u2019s office or the Business office.<\/div>\n

If not, this is an old list of\u00a0Level 5\u2019s (2023-24)<\/a>\u00a0by district. The person(s) listed may still be there.<\/div>\n

THE APPLICATION CHANGED THIS SEASON<\/b><\/div>\n
The Grant application changed this season. It is important to use the resources provided by the MDE. They are excellent and brief this year. These two links have the same resources:<\/div>\n

Review these first. Then visit FIM’s\u00a0Step-by-Step Guide<\/a>\u00a0to filling out the MDE grant, which contains a list of Max Awards along with some great tools, including a list of\u00a0ALL Michigan FIRST teams<\/a>, a\u00a0Sample 99h Input Sheet<\/a>. You will also find a\u00a0Blank Input Sheet<\/a>\u00a0you can\u00a0fill in and give to your Level 5 after gathering all you data.<\/div>\n

BIGGEST CHANGES IN THE APP<\/b><\/div>\n
1.\u00a0Layout and Organization:<\/b>\u00a0Rather than being organized by team, the app is organized around the BUILDING (school) and the teams in that building.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
2.\u00a0Info no longer needed<\/b>: You don’t have to provide coach info or sponsor\/partner info on the application. You are still required to have a sponsor, though.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
BUDGET SPECIFICS: (info for your Level 5)<\/b><\/div>\n
General Budget Info<\/b><\/div>\n
1. Each\u00a0building<\/u>\u00a0will have one line\/item, and only one, for the max\u00a0stipend<\/u>. Nothing higher.<\/div>\n
2. Each\u00a0team<\/u>\u00a0will have one line\/item, and only one, for the maximum\u00a0support award<\/u>. Nothing higher.<\/div>\n
3. A team is a “ROOKIE” only during it’s very first year.<\/div>\n

1. Don’t specify what you will use the money for. Just type in the following, replacing the underlined items with your team info:<\/div>\n

I don’t know if or when FIM will get a report from the MDE this season to check for errors and see who has not yet applied, so please be sure to use the resources, especially those from the MDE.<\/div>\n

They told us they will not allow modifications AFTER the grant closes. So please apply early.<\/div>\n
